Total Compensation

Base salary plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

Definition

Total compensation includes base salary, target bonus, equity (stock options or RSUs), and the cash-equivalent value of benefits. It is the most accurate measure of true earning power, especially in tech, finance, and executive roles.
