Where do your salary numbers come from?
United States wages come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2025 release. Canadian wages come from the Government of Canada Job Bank Wage Data, latest available release. We combine these with BEA regional price parities to derive a baseline-times-COL model. How often is the data updated?
Wage baselines refresh whenever BLS publishes a new OEWS release (currently May 2025) and whenever the Government of Canada Job Bank publishes a new wage update. Tax brackets are refreshed every January. Cost-of-living indices are reviewed quarterly.
Are your calculators free?

Do you store the data I enter into calculators?
No — calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not stored on our servers.
Why do salaries vary so much between cities?
Cost of living, housing, talent supply, and industry concentration all influence local wage levels. We capture this with a city-by-city COL index calibrated to the US national average (index 100).
Do you cover both US and Canada?
Yes. We index 50 US states + DC, 13 Canadian provinces and territories, and 400+ cities across both countries.
